Overview.

datajobsforyou.com is a paid membership site offering training for people who wish to do data entry jobs from home. Included are training sections on what we are told are some of the most popular work from home opportunities available today. These comprise transcription work, data entry word processing, data entry research and data entry marketing. There is also a manually updated job board.

Openness.

The owner contacted us and granted us access without us even having to ask them so we’re off to a good start with the maximum rating.

Advertising standards.

Whilst the web site does not lie it tends to be very economical with the truth. Users are led to believe that they will have access to thousands of companies looking for data entry workers.

These thousands of companies they talk about will be accessible via the couple of affiliate accounts which you will sign up to during the “data entry marketing” training.

Also on the front page we find screen shots of what we are told are some of the better performing members earnings. The claims are remarkable. We are shown that it’s possible to make $40,000 or more every month with this data entry marketing!

Woah! Hold up a second here … people who are making this kind of money are what are known in the business as super affiliates and they know their business well. Don’t expect to be making anywhere near this kind of amount anytime soon unless you have super human learning powers and cash you can afford to lose.

So we felt that while the web site does not scream “scam”, the advertising was a little misleading.

Rating: 4/10

Ease-of-use.

The members area itself was easy enough to navigate although I did have a little trouble with my Firefox browser and I also had to search around a bit for the job board.

The training pages are very long pages and I did find myself getting lost every now and then but they do have regular links which take you back to the various menus which you will be progressing through as you perform the training.

We also thought that the off-site links scattered throughout the training materials should have opened up in a new window so that we didn’t lose the page we were reading. I know you can just click the back button and it may be a personal thing, but I always prefer to have links opening up in a new tab in my Firefox browser. Just keeps things neater.

Overall the members area was easy to use and we managed to find all the information we needed without too much searching.

Rating 8/10

Contents and quality of resource.

On to the bit we all want to know about. What’s inside and how good is it?

Well, to be perfectly honest if I had paid for this I would have been feeling a little short changed. Don’t get me wrong the training is comprehensive and should you want to go down the traditional data entry route you will learn something from the training materials.

However most, if not all of the information provided can be found in amongst the winding streets and back allies of the information superhighway.

The first training section deals with data entry transcription. This covers general transcription work. After your training is complete you will be directed to the job board where you can apply for transcription work.

There is comprehensive information here regarding the software which you should be using, the types of transcription work you could hope to get, working with audio and video files, transcription formats and preparing for the jobs.

You are given a couple of links to software which can help you develop your transcription career such as dictation software and free word processing software.

Again, all available from a google search.

The second training section concerns data entry word processing. This is a very long section with general information about data entry work and lessons covering the types of assignments, the equipment needed and a detailed section covering many aspects of using your word processor.

There is a “more training” section which lists links to some Microsoft video training concerning using Microsoft Office products. This information is readily available on the Microsoft web site.

The final lesson deals with getting data entry work which lists a popular job board and gives a link to their own job database.

Then we come onto the data entry research training which is basically showing you how to participate in online focus groups and surveys. There is a decent list of survey companies towards the end of the page and the rest of the training deals with how you go about earning money doing this type of work.

We have lessons dealing with equipment, required skill level, types of studies, getting organized, signing up for companies, and how to go about completing your assignments.

Last but not least there is the inevitable data entry marketing training section. When we see those massive earnings on the front page this is what they are talking about. Data entry marketing is another way of saying affiliate marketing.

Just as in the My-Data-Team review we want to make it crystal clear that this is not data entry in the traditional sense of the word.

The data you will be entering consists of adverts and keywords. To make it work well and create the kind of turnover you see on their home page (and remember it is turnover, not profit) you will need to buy advertising on the search networks such as google, Yahoo and MSN.

Yes, there are free advertising options but can you imagine the number of people you’re competing with? More often than not your efforts get buried quickly. To reiterate, the only way to create a large income doing this data entry marketing is to invest further in paid advertising.

There IS a good section on CraigsList marketing which is an excellent free way to promote your affiliate products, if you know what you’re doing.

As with our previous review you are instructed to sign up with a couple of large affiliate networks (this is where the ‘thousands of companies’ come from), you will choose products you wish to promote for third party vendors and you’ll then advertise these people’s products to receive a commission on every sale.

When it is done right, affiliate marketing can be very profitable. But you should not have any illusions about this. It is hard work and you’ll have to invest either time or money and probably both.

As for the quality of the resource, if you take it on its face value then there is some good information here. Again it’s nothing you can’t find elsewhere but if you want everything in one place then this is a reasonably high-quality resource.

Whichever training route you choose you’ll be a self-employed operative responsible for your own tax and everything else that goes with it.

Finally, the job board. They seem to keep this regularly updated with fresh jobs and there’s a good list of resources for many types of online work. As of this writing the last update was on the 28th with more updates happening today, I’m told.

From bog standard data entry work to virtual assistants to e-tutoring. You can visit the sites and submit your application to become a work from home operative.

Rating: 5/10

Value for money.

At 30 dollars we would say this is reasonably good value for money if what you’re looking for is comprehensive training in the skills required to do data entry on the Internet and information about pursuing your affiliate marketing career.

Rating: 5/10

Conclusions and final rating.

In conclusion we would like to stress that the two main thrusts of this site are firstly towards training you up to do online data entry work and secondly to introduce you to the world of affiliate marketing. That rabbit hole goes deep … so deep! The earnings screen shots on the front page are a little misleading because they are referring to the affiliate marketing section which they call data entry marketing.

We give datajobsforyou.com an overall rating of 32/50 or 64% positive.
