First up we need to differentiate between My-Data-Team.com and MyDataTeam.com (no hyphens). The latter is simply a fairly general directory mainly populated with pay per click adverts. In other words if you click on those adverts the site owner gets paid. We are talking about the first web site which is a paid service offering work from home jobs.

When you first visit the web site it doesn’t really grab you all that much. The header graphic is pretty basic and there are no bells and whistles about the page at all. However we all know we should never judge a book by its cover.

Bear in mind and Let it be noted that I have contacted plenty of work at home sites and most of them never return my e-mails. When I contact a site owner I ask them if they would be prepared to provide me with free access to their product so that I can review it. Obviously I have some leverage because my web site is very popular and receives good levels of traffic.

My-data-team.com were one of the very few who actually agreed to let me in for nothing. For this they score points immediately in my little black book. To me this says that they are proud to be offering their product and they believe in it strongly enough to agree to my request.

So that’s 10 out of 10 for openness.

…and moving on, what’s inside?

Well, after you’ve handed over your fifty bucks you get access to the password protected members area where you’ll find all the resources offered by this site. And believe me there are a lot of resources! So much so that it can be difficult to know where to start.

This is why it’s a good idea to read the welcome paragraph which you’ll find on the first page of the members area. It gives you a site orientation and a plan of action which they suggest you use to navigate all their resources.

Before you jump in with both feet, on the member home page you’ll find an explanation of how to use the extensive training programs provided by My Data Team. There’s also some free software valued at $100, references, tutorials and guides to help prepare you for your data entry work.

So, on to the real heart of this web site…

Further down the members home page we find the four main areas where you will be concentrating and hopefully building your data entry/work from home career. The four programs are: global data entry, traditional data entry, data entry research and home typing.

And that’s just the beginning! We are told that the global data entry training is the most popular section of the site and most people who sign up, do so for this program. We are told that this is the easiest way to generate income quickly.

The traditional data entry section is the longest running program which they have been offering for over seven years. With this program you get jobs sent directly to your e-mail. You also get lots of training to enable you to stand a chance of winning the jobs.

The data entry research section shows us how to get paid for participating in focus groups and doing research assignments. We are told that we can earn up to $10 for a 30 minute assignment and as much as $350 dollars for a two hour focus group. Again we see that all training is provided.

Last but not least there is the home typing which seems to consist of creating articles and content for web sites. It’s no secret that Webmasters will pay good money for unique content and we are told that it is possible to earn up to $100 per article which, if true, is excellent remuneration.

Again we are told that all training required to carry out these activities is provided.

So let’s cast an eyeball over the training areas.

First up, the Global Data Entry:

They certainly haven’t skimped on quantity. What we have here are two very long training pages containing a whole lot of information. What it boils down to is this…

You set yourself up as an affiliate registering at a couple of sites which deliver products digitally. You choose the companies you wish to promote, you create your affiliate link and you promote this link using the training they provide in section 2.

Section 2 consists of some free promotion resources and some paid promotion resources. The free methods are hardly cutting edge, it has to be said.

Submitting to search engines is something which most search engine marketers will tell you is fairly useless these days since search engines use their own robots to discover pages. This doesn’t mean that you won’t achieve some kind of success submitting to some of the smaller search engines.

There are some FFA pages to post to (Free For All) which usually produce very poor results. We also have instructions for posting classified ads which actually can bring you some kind of success if you know how to craft a good ad. There are also comprehensive instructions for posting to CraigsList, one of the best classified sites out there and the easiest to get booted from.

My Data Team shows you how to get your ads into CraigsList … valuable info indeed.

Also on the agenda is posting to safe lists. Something which worked briefly some years ago but these days tends to bring exceptionally poor results.

Lastly we have article submitting which when done right can be a very powerful promotion method. If you’re going to go down the affiliate marketing route then I would highly recommend article writing as one of your primary marketing tools. Many people create nice incomes simply by writing articles alone.

The My Data Team members area also provides you with a comprehensive article submitter program which is probably worth the membership fee alone. You can submit your article to many different places which will go a long way to gaining you that all-important exposure.

The second half of this very long page of instructions deals with paid promotion options. In all honesty, with the exception of perhaps the article marketing and CraigsList, you’re going to get much better and faster results using paid resources to gain exposure for your affiliate links.

Do this right and you can actually earn a lot of money!

Included in this section is an extremely detailed set of instructions for using this method. Notably, google does not figure in this section unlike most of the other “data entry” type sites which use PPC and affiliate product models to provide your income.

My Data Team did some market testing the surprising results of which can be found in the members area.

It should be made clear here that this model is a far cry from a real data entry job where a company pays you to enter data. The data you’re entering in this model is in the form of keywords and ad copy which promotes your affiliate links.

You are, in effect, self employed and all the burden associated with creating your own successful business rests entirely on your shoulders.

That said, if you’re looking for a great PPC blueprint then My Data Team delivers the goods. I honestly believe you could generate a substantial income doing this but again, it’s not a data entry job in the traditional sense of the word.

… which brings us neatly on to the second section:

Traditional Data Entry.

The training section is another very long page with tons of info on there. Mostly this info teaches you how to use a word processor and goes into great detail. A fabulous resource for newbies who have few computer skills.

Those of us who are past our infancy stages of the digital revolution will not need to spend much time on this section. It may be handy, I suppose, if you come up against some problem with your word processor but to be honest a google search is probably just as effective.

In this section there are also some small sub sections dealing with the kind of jobs you will be expected to do in the traditional data entry world.

Finally this section directs you to the My Data Team Job boards where you can find a whole bunch of work at home jobs. There are a couple of boards there that we didn’t know about and actually look very good. One of the boards hasn’t updated their copyright notice though which always turns me off.

We did find plenty of data entry work there though.

There is also a list of companies who hire people directly to do data entry work. You need some experience for many of these companies but not all. If you practice your typing you can get work through these people. It’s a list I havn’t seen anywhere else online and My Data Team have made an effort to provide a valuable resource here.

Since this review is getting a bit long I’ll scoot through the last two sections.

The data research section of the members area consists of a comprehensive list of paid survey sites and focus groups. An excellent resource if you want to go down this route. They have literally hundreds of options here.

For the sheer volume of resources in this area we’re happy to state that this section is worth the one time fee in itself. They have left no stone unturned when it comes to paid survey opportunities. It really is a massive list.

The last section is the Home Typing Training.

Another very long and detailed section explaining thoroughly how to write articles and other content, publish this content on free services and profit from clicks and affiliate sales. It also explains how to get paid by selling your content directly to “content brokers”.

To go through this whole section would take up way too much room but suffice to say, if you want to learn how to get paid for writing content then this section will turn you into a master of the art.

In all honesty the information is available out there in the wilds of the internet hinterland but it could take you months to locate all the relevant info in amongst all the scams and dross out there.

There are further downloads, guides and tools here. A whole section on promoting your content and plenty of in depth tutorials. It has to be said that a lot of effort has gone into the members area in general.

So again as far as value for money is concerned My Data Team have done a great job of setting you up with a valuable blueprint for earning via content driven systems!

But wait! There are even more resources which we havn’t mentioned. New tools and sections coming online all the time, updated lists of jobs and job boards all designed to keep you really busy in your new career.

In closing we’d also like to say that their affiliate program actually pays out too! Thanks to all those involved in My Data Team for a sound and ethical resource.
